STEDI C4 Application & Beam Types
Patrick AllenShare
STEDI’s C4 LED Cube Lights are among the brand’s most versatile compact lighting options. Their small size and selection of beam patterns make them suitable for a wide range of vehicle, camping, marine and work-lighting applications.
STEDI’s wider C4 range includes three primary beam patterns: spot, flood and diffused. The range has also been offered in three distinctive finishes: Black Edition, Marine White and Industrial Yellow. Available finishes and beam options may vary between models.
A flush-mount C4 option is also available, providing a tidy solution for reverse-light and rear work-light installations where a conventional mounting bracket may not be suitable.
The comparison images below show the differences between the available beam patterns, helping you choose the option best suited to your intended use.

SPOT, FLOOD & DIFFUSED BEAMS
The most suitable C4 beam pattern will depend on where the light is installed and the type of illumination required. A light used to improve visibility further down a road or track has different requirements from one fitted to illuminate a campsite, work area, boat deck or the space behind a vehicle.
Spot Beam
The spot beam produces a concentrated pattern designed to project light further ahead. It is the most suitable of the three options when longer-range visibility is the priority.
This makes it useful for driving and off-road applications where a compact light is needed to provide a focused view down the road or track. C4 spot lights can also be incorporated into compact auxiliary lighting setups on suitable vehicles and motorcycles.
Flood Beam
The flood beam distributes light across a wider area rather than concentrating it primarily in the distance. This broader spread makes it a practical choice for illuminating the area around a vehicle, roof rack, trailer, boat or worksite.
It is also well suited to general work and campsite lighting where wider coverage is more important than maximum distance. The C4 flush-mount flood is particularly useful for installations requiring a compact rear work light or reverse-light solution.
Diffused Beam
The diffused beam provides a smooth and evenly distributed near-field pattern. Rather than producing an intense central hotspot, it spreads usable light across the immediate area.
This makes it particularly useful for close-range applications such as campsite lighting, work-area illumination, marine use and reverse lighting. It is a strong option when broad, comfortable illumination is required without concentrating most of the light output into one narrow area.
Whether you need lighting around a roof rack, greater visibility around a boat or trailer, a compact reverse light, or a focused beam for the road ahead, these comparisons demonstrate how each C4 beam pattern performs.
COLOURED FILTER COVERS
STEDI’s coloured C4 filter covers are designed to alter the characteristics of the light for different environments and applications. Available options include yellow, blue and translucent black filters.
Yellow Filter
The yellow filter is designed to improve visibility through mist, fog, dust and other particles suspended in the air. Changing the light to a warmer yellow tone can provide a clearer view of the road, terrain or work area in these conditions.
Blue Filter
The blue filter is designed to help reduce glare from reflective surfaces. This can be useful in selected marine, industrial and work environments where reflected white light may otherwise make visibility more difficult.
Translucent Black Filter
The translucent black filter is primarily an appearance-focused option, giving the front of the C4 light a darker and more discreet finish.
Filter inclusion may vary between individual C4 products and packages. Check the contents and specifications on the relevant product page to confirm whether filters are included with the selected light or available separately.
