STEDI Industrial & Mining LED Lights: Built for Demanding Conditions
For machinery operators, truck drivers, farmers and anyone working after dark, reliable lighting is more than a convenience. Good visibility helps illuminate the work area, surrounding terrain and potential hazards when operating equipment in challenging environments.
STEDI offers a range of LED work lights designed for applications extending well beyond conventional 4WD lighting. From dedicated mining-spec flood lights through to high-output industrial floods and compact tractor lights, there are options for heavy machinery, trucks, agricultural equipment and general work applications.

BUILT FOR DEMANDING ENVIRONMENTS
Industrial and machinery lighting can be subjected to conditions considerably tougher than those experienced by ordinary road vehicles. Constant vibration, dust, water, heat and extended operating hours all place additional demands on lighting equipment.
STEDI highlighted this in its original mining lights article with an example supplied by a Western Australian customer operating mining machinery around the clock.

The customer's machinery was running 24 hours a day, providing a particularly demanding environment for the lighting fitted to the equipment. According to STEDI, its 150W Mine Spec light remained operational while competing lights used in the same environment had failed.

While this example relates to an earlier STEDI mining light, it demonstrates the type of environment dedicated industrial lighting needs to withstand.

For current applications, STEDI offers several work-light options suited to different requirements, from dedicated mining equipment through to agricultural and general machinery use.
MORE INDUSTRIAL / MINING LIGHTS
STEDI 60W MINING SPEC LED FLOOD LIGHT
For applications where durability and continuous operation are priorities, the STEDI 60W Mining Spec LED Flood Light is specifically designed for industrial and heavy machinery use.
Producing 5,400 lumens from six CREE XM-L2 LEDs, the light uses a 45-degree flood beam to spread illumination across the working area rather than concentrating it into a narrow long-distance beam.
Its construction is designed around demanding operating environments. The light carries an IP68 ingress protection rating and incorporates vibration and shock-absorbing bracketing, environmentally sealed Deutsch connectors and protection against voltage and current surges.
STEDI also uses a dynamic thermal management regulator designed to allow the light to operate continuously, 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
Key Features
- 60W power output
- 5,400 lumens
- 6 x 10W CREE XM-L2 LEDs
- 45° flood beam
- IP68 ingress protection
- 9–36V operating range
- Dynamic thermal management
- Vibration and shock-absorbing bracket
- Environmentally sealed Deutsch connectors
- Surge and reverse-polarity protection
- 50,000-hour rated lifespan
These characteristics make the 60W Mining Spec particularly well suited to heavy machinery and industrial applications where equipment may operate for extended periods and lighting is regularly exposed to vibration and harsh environmental conditions.
STEDI 14" 120W HYPER LED FLOOD LIGHT
Where greater overall light output is required, the STEDI 14" Hyper LED Flood Light provides a significantly larger lighting package.
The Hyper uses high-intensity CREE LEDs to produce 10,800 raw lumens from a 120W light, making it a useful option for larger machinery, trucks and work areas where broad, powerful illumination is required.
Its aluminium alloy housing is finished with a UV-resistant powder coating, while the hardened optical polycarbonate lens provides protection at the front of the light. A hardened steel U-bracket provides a substantial mounting solution for machinery and industrial applications.
Environmentally sealed Deutsch DT2 connectors are also used to help protect the electrical connection from exposure to demanding working environments.
Key Features
- 120W power output
- 10,800 raw lumens
- High-intensity CREE LEDs
- IP67 ingress protection
- 9–32V operating range
- Hardened optical polycarbonate lens
- Hardened steel U-bracket
- Environmentally sealed Deutsch connectors
- Aluminium alloy housing
- 50,000-hour rated lifespan
The Hyper is a good example of why industrial lighting is not simply about selecting the most powerful spotlight available. Its high output is intended to illuminate a larger working area, making it particularly relevant where machinery operators need strong surrounding visibility rather than a narrow beam projected far into the distance.
STEDI 30W CREE TRACTOR & WORK LIGHT
Not every application requires a large industrial flood light.
The STEDI 30W CREE Tractor Light provides a more compact option specifically designed with agricultural machinery in mind, while remaining suitable for a wider range of work environments.
Using six high-intensity 5W CREE LEDs, the light produces 2,988 raw lumens through a 40-degree flood beam. This provides a useful spread of light around the vehicle or equipment, particularly for close and medium-range work.
A key feature of the Tractor Light is its flexible mounting system. STEDI supplies both a universal U-bracket and an adjustable side bracket, allowing the position and angle of the light to be adjusted to suit different machinery and factory mounting locations.
Although designed around tractor applications, STEDI notes that the light is not limited to agricultural machinery and can be installed in a variety of work environments.
Key Features
- 30W power output
- 2,988 raw lumens
- 6 x 5W high-intensity CREE LEDs
- 40° flood beam
- IP68 ingress protection
- 9–36V operating range
- Environmentally sealed Deutsch connection
- Lexan polycarbonate lens
- Universal U-bracket
- Adjustable side mounting bracket
- 50,000-hour rated lifespan
The smaller housing and flexible mounting options make this light particularly useful where installation space is limited or multiple work lights are positioned around a piece of machinery.
CHOOSING THE RIGHT INDUSTRIAL LED WORK LIGHT
Choosing an industrial or machinery light shouldn't simply come down to selecting the model with the highest wattage or lumen figure.
The best option depends on where the light will be installed, how much area needs to be illuminated and the conditions in which the equipment operates.
For mining and heavy machinery operating for extended periods, features such as vibration resistance, environmental sealing and thermal management can be particularly important. The 60W Mining Spec is specifically designed around these requirements.
Where the priority is powerful illumination across a larger work area, the 120W Hyper provides substantially greater raw light output from a larger housing.
For tractors, agricultural machinery and other applications where a compact light and flexible mounting are more important, the 30W CREE Tractor Light provides a practical alternative.
It is also worth considering the beam pattern. Flood beams spread light across a wider area, making them particularly useful for machinery and work lighting where operators need to see the surrounding environment rather than simply projecting light as far forward as possible.
LED LIGHTING FOR MINING, AGRICULTURE & MACHINERY
From around-the-clock mining operations to farm machinery working after sunset, different industries place different demands on their lighting equipment.
STEDI's industrial and machinery lighting range provides options covering heavy-duty mining applications, high-output area lighting and compact work lights for tractors and other equipment.
Matching the light to the application — considering output, beam pattern, mounting position, environmental protection and operating requirements — will provide a more useful result than choosing on output alone.
